"When you're born into this world, you're given a ticket to the freakshow. And when you're born in America, you're given a front-row seat.

And some of us get to sit there with notebooks."

-George Carlin

Ever since I heard those words I haven't been able to shake 'em.  The great standup comedian George Carlin delivered the best explanation I've ever heard for the surreal experience of life on this pale blue dot. With seven billion of us running around, doing whatever we do, I thought why not grab a seat and take some notes myself?

Carlin claimed that he'd scribble in his notebook from the sidelines, separated emotionally from the outcome. I want to try something different. There is something to gain by observing, studying, and laughing at the absurdity of modern life. Because beyond every single cutting-edge, state-of-the-art development, we are still upright monkeys stumbling through some strange times.

Notes From the Freakshow is my notebook. My plan is to magnify and dissect the things that make up this life. After all, we still don't know why we're here. What the fuck is that about!?

We're here for a good time, not a long time, so, quick, let's take our seats. The show is starting.
